Status Quo are releasing a new version of their 1986 single 'In The Army Now' to raise money for Help For Heroes and British Forces Foundation.
Status Quo are to release a new version of 'In The Army Now'.
The veteran rockers are recording the track - which reached number two in the UK singles charts when first released in 1986 - again with different lyrics and backing vocals from the Corps of Army Music.
All profits from sales of the track will go to charities Help For Heroes and British Forces Foundation.
Status Quo frontman Francis Rossi told BBC News: "We want people to celebrate what they do, say thank you and also support these vital charities.
"It seemed like the right time to do this. This release is intended to show our support for the Allied Forces around the world but, in particular, of course, the British Armed Forces."
The single will be released on September 26.
A new video has been made to accompany the song, and sees the band put through their paces in a drill square and getting to grips with military equipment.
