The reformed hellraiser won a new army of fans when he appeared as a contestant on British survival show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2010.

Now he is preparing for a week living with the Embera Drua tribe at the Chagres River in Panama.

On the show, titled Singing In The Rainforest, Ryder and the rest of Happy Mondays will be tasked with writing new music during their seven days in the jungle.

Other British stars taking part include Busted singer Charlie Simpson, former Hear'Say star Myleene Klass, and rockers Glasvegas.

The show is due to air on the U.K.'s Watch channel later this year (15).
