Hollywood actor Ben Stiller has pledged to build eight new schools in Haiti with funds raised through his charitable organisation.
The Meet The Fockers star established The Stiller Foundation following the earthquake which devastated the poverty-stricken nation in January 2010, and he has been hosting benefits and auctions to boost donations for his school building mission to help rebuild the country.
He returned to Haiti this weekend (10Dec11) and reveals he's signed off on a joint venture with local telecoms bosses to construct the new education facilities.
In a Twitter.com post on Saturday, Stiller writes, "Great day in Haiti. Signed an agreement with Digicel Foundation to build 8 schools."
Stiller isn't the only celebrity in Haiti - actress Patricia Arquette, designer Donna Karan and reality TV stars Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner have also jetted to the impoverished nation to lend a hand to relief efforts. The famous females are working with We Advance, the charity organisation co-founded by actress Maria Bello.
