Audrey Tautou wants to be a sailor.

The 34-year-old actress insists she has no plans to continue with her movie career in the long term because she has other interests outside of her work.

She said: "A few years ago, I thought at 40 I'd stop. Because maybe I would have wanted to do something else. I don't know.

"There are so many things that I like apart from my work. Also, and I'm not expecting this, I want to become a sailor."

Audrey has just begun her training and is hopeful that she can eventually man a craft and sail around the world.

In an interview with Marie Claire magazine, she said: "Like, in five years I will be ready and I will be on my boat around the world.

"I would love to do that. I would love to cross the Atlantic. It may never happen but I would love to do that. It has been a dream for ages.

"Sailors, for me, are heroes. Like Ellen MacArthur. That impressed me."
