Bella Swan is finally a vampire. She discovers that the world seems somewhat brighter now and learns about the heightened senses that vampires have. Her body temperature now matches Edward's, so she no longer finds him cold to the touch. She takes quickly to vampire life - very quickly, to the surprise of the Cullens, who were anticipating that it would take decades - even centuries - for Bella to adjust.
Bella is desperate to see her newborn daughter, Renesmee; she isn't so keen once she finds out why Jacob is spending an unnatural amount of time in a house full of vampires. Jacob, being a werewolf, will imprint on a seemingly random girl, who is the love of his life; Jacob has imprinted on Renesmee.
More problems surrounding the alarmingly precocious girl when a friend of the Cullens - a vampire called Irina - sees the child from a distance and mistakes her for an immortal child, which is illegal in the vampire world. She alerts the Volturi, leaving the Cullens almost no time to prepare for the arrival. Will they be able to convince the Volturi that Renesmee is not an immortal child, or will they all be burnt to death?
