He’s just replaced himself at the top of the UK singles chart with consecutive singles, so it makes sense for Justin Bieber to announce a string of massive British tour dates during the lengthy promotional campaign he’s undertaking for his current album Purpose in late 2016.

Biebs will playing two consecutive nights at the O2 Arena in London on Tuesday 11th and 12th October 2016, before heading to Birmingham and then Manchester for similar double-headers, and then single night stop-offs in Sheffield and Glasgow, ending on 27th October. Tickets for the nine dates go on sale on December 17th.

Last Friday, the Canadian star became just the third artist in British chart history to displace one of their own Number 1 singles with another, when ‘Love Yourself’ knocked ‘Sorry’ from the summit. The Beatles were the last living act to do accomplish the ultra-rare feat, with ‘She Loves You’ and ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’, and Elvis Presley did the same thing posthumously in 2005 when a thorough re-issue campaign of his singles saw ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and ‘One Night / I Got Stung’ achieve it.

The 21 year old also seized another chart record from the Fab Four, which they had previously held with Biebs’ fellow Canadian Drake, for most singles in the Billboard Top 100 at the same time. He currently has 17 of his tracks in the chart, beating the 14 that the other two artists once had.

In other Bieber news, the star set the internet alight this week when he asked his social media followers to help him locate an Instagram user who had caught his eye on Monday, with many taking that to mean that he had a crush on the girl in question.

The mystery woman’s identity was then supposedly uncovered on Tuesday, and the user responded with surprise and no small amount of alarm.

“I so do not know how to deal with this but I only have instagram (I did use to have a twitter account but I deactivated),” the user (who we will keep anonymous) wrote.
