Since being released from prison, Ryan Hong (Le) has vowed to live a better life and 'do good' whenever possible. Before his stint in jail, other than a bad attitude Hong didn't have much going for him; that was until he met future mentor Tiano (Van Damme) who taught him unrivalled martial arts skills and gave the youngster a new view on life.
Years later Hong arrives in the struggling town of St. Jude. It doesn't take long for Hong's skills to be noticed by two rival gangs who are soon vying for the allegiance of the town's latest addition. Staying true to the promise he made to Tiano, Hong joins neither gang and soon uses his honed skills to undertake a mission to free the town and its occupants who have lived in fear for too long from drug gangs and the corrupt authority who rule over the town.
