Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike and Sir Anthony Hopkins are all set to star in Guy Ritchie's next movie 'Wife and Dog'.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike and Sir Anthony Hopkins have been cast in Guy Ritchie's latest film 'Wife and Dog'.
The trio have all boarded the latest feature from the 'Snatch' filmmaker which is described as a "return to the colourful, back-stabbing world of the British aristocracy Richie explored in 'The Gentlemen' film and TV series".
Ritchie has penned the screenplay and is also producing alongside longtime collaborator Ivan Atkinson and Black Bear's John Friedberg.
Filming is due to begin in the UK in February 2025 after sales for the project were launched by Black Bear in Cannes earlier this year.
Benedict has previously played the role of Dr. Stephen Strange in a number of superhero movies and explained how he always knew that the 2021 flick 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' was going to be a huge success at the box office.
Speaking on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon', the 48-year-old actor said: "Well, I think it's a testament to Jon Watts and the three... Jacob (Batalon), Z (Zendaya), and Tom.
"They've got this beautiful John Hughes homage mixed in with the ultimate universal love there is for that kid. That hero, for Spider-Man and Peter Parker. And it was such a good script. Such a good concept. And then there was that 'little secret'. It was so much fun."
Benedict enjoyed the mixture of humour and drama in the film that saw the return of previous Spideys Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield alongside Tom Holland.
The 'Sherlock' star said: "And what I think they did so blindingly well was just to mix humour with pathos. To mix surprise with elation and expectation and confound expectation. They managed to pull off a huge feat.
"Which apart from anything else, because throwing in Tobey and Andrew meant that you were celebrating like 20 years worth of filmmaking on top of all that."
