In the late 90's and early 00's, The Backstreet Boys were the most powerful boy band in the world. After discovering that they had not been particularly popular in the US, the band travelled overseas and became a phenomenon in Europe. But the European scene was not enough for the American band, and they had to crack the US. With a career spanning years of highs and lows, The Backstreet Boys made their way from nothing, to Europe, to worldwide sensation. But what does that sort of strain does that success put on otherwise ordinary people? And just how does anybody overcome it?
'Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of' is an upcoming documentary about the much loved boy band from documentary director Stephen Kijak. The film was set in motion when the band decided to meet in London in 2012 to work on a new album, yet they decided that they wanted to make a movie instead, telling the story of their band and its success. The band contributed all the music to the film, with a release date set for 30th January, 2015 in the US, and a worldwide release date of 26th February, 2015.
