Actor Keanu Reeves unexpectedly turned up at Portcullis House on Tuesday (June 28) leaving us all to wonder if he’d come to save the country after Brexit. The actor posed for selfies with MPs during his visit, while Twitter rolled out every Matrix-related Brexit gag you could possibly think of.

Mike Read claims his song 'UKIP Calypso' is not racist.
The former BBC Radio 1 DJ Mike Read has seemingly come out in support of controversial political party UKIP, by penning and recording a support song titled 'UKIP Calypso'. Performed with a mock Caribbean accent, the song sings the praises of the party's leader, Nigel Farage.
Speaking to BBC Radio Berkshire, the DJ denied the song was racist, calling the allegations "extraordinary" and suggesting the calypso could only be sung in a Caribbean accent.

David Cameron posed with blacked up morris dancers in Banbury - but hold your horses.
There's an incredible funny line in the political comedy In The Loop, when Peter Capaldi's irate spin-doctor Malcolm Tucker is partway through one of his legendary dressing downs, berating Tom Hollander's Simon Foster for speaking out of line during a radio interview. When the MP suggests he was only giving his opinion to the probing journalist, Tucker fires back: "If he'd asked you to f*cking black up, or to give him your PIN number or to sh*t yourself, would you have done that?"
Elsewhere, the Cold Feed actor John Thompson recorded Wilfred Owen's Dulce et Decorum Est and Sean Bean, Stephen Fry and comedian Sarah Millican also recorded tracks. Some descendants of recipients of World War I Victoria Crosses have recorded John McCrarie's In Flanders Fields, which will be released as a single with 40 pence from each sale being donated to the Royal British Legion and Victoria Cross Trust.

World Of Cinema Mourns The Death Of Academy President Tom Sherak

The former President of the Academy died at age 68.
Today the world of cinema mourns the death of Tom Sherak, studio executive and former Academy president. On Tuesday it was announced that Sherak had succumb to a long battle with prostate cancer and died at his Calabasas, Calif. home.
Sherak had a long and fruitful career at 20th Century Fox, followed by a few years at Revolution Studios. However, his career peaked when he was elected President of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts And Sciences in 2009, for two consecutive terms. On September 26, 2013, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti appointed Tom Sherak as director of the newly created Mayor's Entertainment Industry and Production Office.

This year's Pride of Britain Awards were a bigger and brighter event than ever, as 2013 showed that there are more an more reasons to celebrate those who show bravery or go further to help their community or selflessly improve the life of someone else.
To be fair to the British PM, Cumberbatch’s performance is actually the only the thing spared by the critics as they target the poor script and clumsy storytelling. "Benedict Cumberbatch – brilliant, fantastic piece of acting. The twitchiness and everything of Julian Assange is brilliantly portrayed," said Cameron to ITN's political editor, Tom Bradby. Is he in touch with the common man and woman? Probably not, no.
David Cameron and his Panasonic bread maker have a nice life. He’s off shaking peoples’ hands, attending Cobra meetings and opening new wind farms; meanwhile, his Panasonic bread maker is whirring away, concocting the perfect loaf for him to enjoy when he gets back.
The thing is, as the leader of a country with a very clear poverty line – of which many people live below – not knowing about the price of a loaf of bread is somewhat of a faux pas when it comes to media management and PR.
Nadine Dorries, a Tory MP, once called him and his team “posh boys who don’t know the price of a pint of milk,” which is rather an accurate surmise of the British leader. This was vindicated when Cameron was interviewed on LBC radio.

NME Award Nominations Announced: HAIM And Tame Impala Four Nominations Each

"The NME Awards is the highlight of the music calendar and the most Rock'n'roll party of the year," says NME editor Mike Williams. He's not wrong, and this year's nominations, which have just been released, prove to make this year's party even better.
The bands to be most proud of their nominations this year are new-comers Haim and Tame Impala, both of which have never been nominated in the awards before. Haim's nominations are for 'Best New Band', 'Best Track', 'Best Music Video' and 'Best Twitter' for Alana Haim (@babyhaim). We're not entirely sure what makes a good Twitter, but we're sure she deserves it, mostly because she posted a photo of her kissing a trout. Tame Impala's nominations are for 'Best International Band', 'Best Album', 'Best Track' and 'Best Music Video'. Also with four nominations each are veterans The Rolling Stones, and controversial act, M.I.A.
This year's heroes and villains are an interesting bunch with Harry Styles and David Cameron undoubtedly leading the troupe for the villains, while Frank Ocean, Barack Obama and Pussy Riot are all up for the Hero award.
