'Big Little Lies' And 'Three Billboards...' Are 2018 Golden Globes' Big Winners
By Holly Mosley in Movies / TV / Theatre on 08 January 2018
This year the ceremony was a celebration of female talent.
The 75th Golden Globe Awards has turned out to be a landmark event, and not just with Oprah winning the Cecil B. DeMille Award and all the female guests wearing black to protest against Hollywood sexism. It seems female-orientated films and TV shows dominated the entire night.
Martin McDonagh's 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' was the winner of Best Drama and Best Screenplay, with Frances McDormand winning Best Drama Actress and Sam Rockwell landing Best Supporting Actor. It's a film about a tenacious mother who takes it upon herself to force the local police to investigate deeper into the murder of her daughter.

Jennifer Aniston And Angelina Jolie To Present At Golden Globes
By Ed Biggs in Movies / TV / Theatre on 05 January 2018
The pair are rarely spotted at any public events together, but are reportedly setting aside their differences
The final additions to the list of presenters for the upcoming Golden Globes has yielded a significant news story, with Angelina Jolie to present at the same event as Jennifer Aniston.
On Thursday night, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed the final four presenters that will be giving out awards at the 2018 ceremony – Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Emma Stone and Helen Mirren.
This is significant because Jolie and Aniston, who share a mutual ex-partner in Brad Pitt, are very rarely spotted at the same events together, with the last time they were spotted in the same place being the 2015 Critics’ Choice Awards.

'Get Out' Director Jordan Peele Responds To Film Being Placed In Golden Globes Comedy Category
By Ed Biggs in Movies / TV / Theatre on 15 November 2017
The 2018 Golden Globes have 'Get Out' in the comedy-musical category.
Get Out director Jordan Peele has waded into a controversy that’s been ignited after the Golden Globes panel faced confusion over which precise category to place the film under – ending up choosing the comedy category, rather strangely.
The critically lauded film was holed as a horror film – pretty uncontroversially, really – right from its debut at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival back in January. Furthermore, it got great reviews for its insights on race relations in America, telling the story of a young black man (played by Daniel Kaluuya) who meets the middle-class family of his white girlfriend (played by Allison Williams) when horror ensues.
However, the 2018 Golden Globes nominations that were rolled out this morning placed Get Out in the comedy-musical category, which left many onlookers rather bewildered, none more so than the director himself.

By Michael West in Movies / TV / Theatre on 13 January 2015
Golden Globes winner 'Transparent' could skyrocket Amazon Studios to the top of the Hollywood elite.
Amazon Studios has confirmed itself as a major contender in Hollywood after its signature series Transparent won the Golden Globe for best comedy and its star Jeffrey Tambor was named best actor on Sunday (January 11, 2014). A competitor to services like Netflix and Hulu, Amazon appears to have leapfrogged its rival to land serious Hollywood silverware.
While Best Actor went to Eddie Redmayne for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory Of Everything' and Best Motion Picture went to Richard Linklater's 'Boyhood', fans of the 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' franchise were celebrating a very different victory as Christian Grey actor Jamie Dornan showed up as a guest to the Golden Globe Awards sporting a particularly impressive beard.
