Andy Burrows Was Nervous About Collaboration With Pal Tom Smith

Former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows was "nervous" about teaming up with Editors frontman Tom Smith for an album as he feared the project would be "self-indulgent".

The two friends created 2011 Christmas record Funny Looking Angels, released under the name Smith and Burrows, but the sticksman admits he had reservations about the project.

However, after receiving positive feedback about the album, the pals are planning a second release - although it won't be another festive collection.

Burrows tells Britain's Daily Star, "We were nervous before Funny Looking Angels because best mates working together can end up being a bit self-indulgent.

"But people liked what we did, and that's made us realise we should be able to do something just as good without any theme to it next time."

Smith adds, "We wanted to do it last year but Andy had his own album to tour and I was too busy with live rehearsals for the Editors' new line-up. I used up all my supplies of Yuletide joy making the first record, so I couldn't do another Christmas album."
