Brighton rock duo Blood Red Shoes are to release their second single 'Lost Kids' on May 14th with V2/Co-Operative Music Records (The Black Keys, Smoke Fairies). This is the second single from their new album 'In Time To Voices' which was released in March.

The single also comes out with a new video featuring the duo playing the song. It opens with some ominous red backlighting casting their faces into shadow for the first verse, and similarly closes with blue lighting. A simple but symbolic masterpiece proving that the bizarre imagery that is currently popular amongst many artists' videos does not necessarily inject any extra meaning into the song.

Drummer and vocalist Steven Ansell says the song was written during the London riots and during a spout of arguments between him and guitarist Laura-Mary Carter. 'It just felt like there was a lot of destructive, frustrated energy in the air, but we didn't want to write about it as an overtly political song,' he said. 'It does feel like there are many lost souls in the world right now.'

Blood Red Shoes are currently in the middle of their European and UK tour and are due to play on the main stage at the Reading Festival on Saturday 25th August and the Leeds Festival on Sunday 26th of August. They will also gig at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London on October 18th.
