Oprah Confesses She Never Wanted A Family: 'My Kids Would Hate Me'
Oprah Winfrey's non-stop schedule stopped her from having kids who would've suffered.
Oprah Winfrey may have saved a lot of families and taken care of a lot of people over the past 30 years she's been on television, but kids have always been out of the question.
The world's most famous talk-show host has admitted that her immensely busy high-flying career has meant that bringing up children would've been almost impossible. The 59-year-old has been in a relationship with businessman Stedman Graham since 1986 and, although the pair were engaged at one point, they never made it down the aisle; getting round to starting a family, thus, was never on the cards.
'If I had kids, my kids would hate me', she admitted to The Hollywood Reporter. 'They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me; because something [in my life] would have had to suffer and it would've probably been them.' As a teenager, she was too busy thinking about making a difference in the world and helping people en masse to worry about where she was going to find time to settle down - unlike her long time best friend Gayle King.
