London's summer extravaganza returns for a fabulous 4th year as the Weekender continues its remarkable journey from monthly clubnight to becoming London leading independent music festival. Over two days, ten stages and 20 acres of mature parkland, some of the capital's leading lights host a weekend of culturally unrestrained indulgence, mind-blowing music, entertainments, food and frolic. A Summer invitation to see Grand Daddies Groove Armada (with surprise special guests) performing exclusive new tracks from their hotly anticipated new album - expect rump shaking, whistle blowing and hands in the air as they do what they do best…smash it out live at the biggest and best alfresco party in London. To add to the party Jamiroquai slides onto stage on Sunday and performs dynamite tracks to help you groove your cares away as only he can. Saturday headliners and festival hosts Groove Armada deliver their first ever performance of their forthcoming new album, supported on the main stage by DJ Marky & Patife, X-Press 2 (live - their first live show in the UK!), Hot Chip, Shlomo, Candi Staton, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Cut Copy, and New Young Pony Club.
Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings, secretsundaze, Bacardi's B-Live, 55DSL Block Party Tent, and Favela Chic / Cable Street host the headline Arenas with Gilles Peterson, Jamie Lidell (live), Roots Manuva (DJ set), Mark Ronson (DJ set), Skitz and Rodney P, Rainer Truby, Bugz In The Attic (live), IG Culture, Greg Wilson, Ricardo Villalobos, Pier Bucci (live), Coldcut (live), Giles Smith, and James Priestley to name just a few! Uber-cool club night Kill All Hippies will be hosting their own arena on the Sunday and bringing together some of the finest indie and crossover rock bands around; Battle, White Rose Movement, Longcut, Little Barrie, Rumble Strips, and The Delilahs, with DJ support fron Eddy Temple-Morris, Jagz Kooner, Mark Beaumont and Gavin Nugent. All weekend the X Box Lost and Found Arena will delight your eyes - featuring live performances from David Viner, Jim Noir, The Bishops, M Craft, Jack Penate, and you too (bring an MP3 player or vinyl to play tunes to your mates). Rumbleteaser will feature performances from Larrikin Love, Gogol Bordello, Tiger Lillies, Oojami, world music / gypsy beat godfather Shantel, and loads more. Expect further involvement from the likes of Up All Night, Blacktronica and Cut A Shine's 21st century barn dance shenanigans! Yee-hah! Lovebox also hosts the only London festival appearances of the legendary Speigeltent, Kata Giant Teepee and the Luminarium – a gigantic, inflatable installation which creates a must-see labyrinth of saturated light and cavernous domes. Aerosolics host their summer party at the event. Britain's largest ever exposé of aerosol art including guest appearances from cult international graffiti writers on the Saturday, before the first ever UK heat of the 'graffiti world cup' - Write4Gold – on the Sunday.
