The Coronas impressed at a special showcase in London last night (19.06.12).
The indie rock band - comprised of lead singer Danny O'Reilly, drummer Conor Egan, guitarist Dave McPhillips and Graham Knox on bass - performed a set at 229 The Venue where they played a number of songs from their new album 'Closer To You' and some old fan favourites.
Fresh from playing to a crowd of thousands at the Marquee in Cork in their native Ireland last week, the band showed they have no qualms with playing a more intimate venue as they powered through a blistering setlist which included 'Someone Else's Hands', and latest single 'Addicted To Progress'.
Frontman Danny kicked off 'Heroes Or Ghosts' with a stunning solo performance from in front of the stage while guitarist Dave showcased his own impressive vocals on 'All The Luck In The World'.
The audience also boasted a collection of celebrity fans with MTV's Laura Whitmore, 'Total Wipeout' presenter Amanda Byram, 'The Voice of Ireland' judge Niall Breslin and 'The Voice' contestant Bo Bruce all in attendance.
Bo tweeted: ''My gaaaaawd how insane is danny @thecoronas voice- listen in people, these guys are onto something huuuuuuuuge
''massive great big uber fan right here- mega things ahead i knows it! (sic)''
Amanda added: ''Ridiculously brilliant gig tonight.. @TheCoronas smashed it. Well done lads!!!! (sic).''
'Closer To You' is out now.
