Britney Spears' team want her to secure her own sitcom or a recurring part in a comedy series amid speculation her contract with 'The X Factor' USA won't be renewed
Britney Spears wants to secure more TV work.
The 31-year-old 'Till The World Ends' singer - whose contract with 'The X Factor' USA reportedly won't be renewed - is said to have instructed her management team to find her a recurring role on a sitcom.
A source close to the mother-of-two told gossip website RadarOnline.com: ''Britney's manager, Larry Rudolph, is reading television scripts that the singer could accept. Britney's dad, Jamie feels that having his daughter on a sitcom would be a good fit for her. Britney needs to be kept busy, and a structured environment such as a television sitcom would be a natural fit for her.
''There is also a possibility that Britney could get her own television sitcom, but that appears to be more of a long shot. She actually has very natural comedic talents and is very funny, in an airhead sort of way.''
Sources previously revealed that the blonde beauty would not be returning to 'The X Factor' after recently completing her one-year contract as a judge alongside Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid.
One insider said: ''Britney, who was signed on a one-year deal, is the first person who will be expected to have her salary chopped. She is on a $15 million contract, which is absurd given that there's been no huge surge in the ratings.
''It just doesn't make sense to spend all that money on Britney when Simon Cowell will undoubtedly be able to find another high-profile judge to replace her at a fraction of the cost.''
Meanwhile Britney is reportedly still struggling to resolve her differences with fiance Jason Trawick, 41 and the couple are said to be sleeping in different rooms.
A source said: ''Britney and Jason aren't sleeping in the same bedroom and haven't been for some time. It's extremely complicated because he is one of her conservators. It's only a matter of time until they formally break-up.
''Britney said Jason wants to be a father, and while he's happily taken on the role of adopted dad to both Jayden and Sean, he still wants Britney to have his kids.''
