Rocker-turned-actress Shirley Manson is a married woman after recently exchanging vows in a secret ceremony in Los Angeles.
The former Garbage frontwoman, who was previously married to actor Eddie Farrell, sparked reports she was engaged in 2008 when she was snapped wearing a large sparkler on her ring finger while out and about in her adopted home of Los Angeles.
She refused to divulge any details or reveal the identity of her beau, but her father told reporters at the time, "All I can say is she is very happy. The two of them have been together for a while and things are going well."
But, during an appearance on U.S. TV's Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson on Friday (28May10), the Scottish star admitted she had finally tied the knot - although she only revealed her new husband was an American.
She said, "I married an American, it's fantastic. He's not (a musician). I would never marry a musician."
Manson wed in a courthouse registry service and decided against celebrating the union with a honeymoon, choosing instead to stay in a hotel in Los Angeles.
She added, "It was very unromantic. We eloped and went to the L.A. courthouse and it was about as unromantic as you can get. It was so unromantic it was super hot. You just turn up (to the courthouse).
"This is my second (marriage) which is why I decided not to do the traditional. We didn't (have a honeymoon). We went and got drunk and did a stayover, which is when you stay in your city but you go to a hotel."
Manson split from Farrell in 2001 and their divorce was finalised in 2003.
