RAPPER GRAVY SHOT OUTSIDE NEW YORK RADIO STATION

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

US rapper GRAVY was shot outside notorious New York City radio station Hot 97 when he arrived to give an interview on Wednesday (26APR06). The 28-year-old - real name JAMAL WOLLARD - suffered a bullet wound to his buttocks when a group of men exited a vehicle and opened fire outside Hot 97's offices in SoHo. The New York Post reports Wollard - who had arrived with a 30-strong entourage wearing T-shirt bearing his name - remained unshaken by his injury and calmly made his scheduled radio appearance. However, terrified bystanders made a number of emergency telephone calls and police officers arrived at Hot 97 to find Gravy wounded and bleeding, but insisting he sustained his injury in a fall. He was rushed for treatment at the city's St Vincent's Hospital. Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly tells the New York Daily News, "Mr Gravy has been largely uncooperative." Hot 97 has been plagued by a number of shootings, with a 2001 incident leading to LIL' KIM's current incarceration on a perjury conviction.
