MEL B - MELANIE BROWN IS GLAD SHE'S 'SCARY'

MELANIE BROWN loves her SPICE GIRLS nickname Scary, because it gives her a formidable persona to hide behind.

The 30-year-old singer found the moniker amusing at first, but soon realised being known as Scary had its benefits.

She recalls, "It was a teenybopper magazine that gave us our names. I've got a loud laugh and I'm lively, so they called me Scary.

"It worked because people were scared of me before I even spoke to them.

"It acted as a good deterrent so people didn't try to mess with me."
