Review of Halfway Gone Single by Lifehouse
Review of Lifehouseâs single Halfway Gone
Whilst there UK success has been fleetingly limited to a top 30 single in 2001 (âHanging By A Momentâ), Lifehouse are on the verge of releasing their fifth record in their native USA. This is the first cut to be taken from their new album âSmoke & Mirrorsâ, slated for release on December 8.
Peers of Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox Twenty, Lifehouse may not be as well known but have a catalogue to equal the radio-friendly rock of those acts. Jason Wade has a voice that was always destined to front a band and on âHalfway Goneâ it is used to great affect on a rousing chorus and âOh ohâ hook that gets you from the first listen. Sure, this isnât boundary pushing in any way, but itâs unshakably fun rock-pop that would brighten most peopleâs day.
