Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Martin Still Dating? Sources Claim Split Announcement was a Ruse

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin, contrary to reports published in October 2014, may still be together. Sources claim 24-year-old Lawrence and 37-year-old Martin announced they had separated in order to continue seeing one another in private. Sources, speaking to Us Weekly, claimed it was all a ruse and they have continued to create elaborate ways to see each other away from prying eyes including a system to ensure Martin can visit Lawrence's house without being observed.

One source claimed the pair has "been together the whole time". Whilst another explained how Lawrence and Martin had been uncomfortable with their relationship being so open and public. "Neither of them wanted to be a public couple so quickly. So they told people they were broken up while they continued to build a relationship," a source told the magazine.

In addition to the sources' claims, Lawrence and Martin have been spotted together on a number of occasions including dining together in Los Angeles on 30th December and celebrating New Year's Eve together at a party. Most recently they were spotted together at a restaurant in Los Angeles on Thursday (15th January).

"They were totally into each other. The romance is on for sure," an eyewitness told the NY Post. The source also claimed the two were "laughing and giggling" throughout the meal and even shared a dessert together.

Lawrence and Coldplay front man Martin began dating late last summer, only months after they both separated from their long-term partners. Martin remains married but estranged from his wife of more than 11 years, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, and the former couple announced their separation last March. Whilst Lawrence had been in an on-off relationship with her X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult since 2011. Lawrence and Hoult confirmed their separation in August 2014.
